TrioBike: Carrierbike, Bike, & Pushchair in One

A carrierbike is a fantastic invention for transporting the kids in. But once the kids have been delivered in day care/kindergarten and you are working the pedals, it is probably one of the most useless inventions. With the Danish designed trioBike, you can easily take of the front carrier and change the carrierbike into a bike and a pushchair. The trioBike also gives couples the possibility, of one delivering the kids and the other picking them up. With each of you having your own bike, one can put on the carrier, deliver the kids and take it off at the institution. Later on the other can ride to the institution, put on the carrier and ride home with the kids.

Propeller Island City Lodge

Freedom Prison Cell - A friendly prison cell with a hole in the wall. The toilet is in the room, just like we know it should be! What's different: You really WANT to stay here, it's extremely comfortable. Freedom awaits on the balcony with a parasol.

Space-cube - Shall we sleep together or in separate beds? You can decide at the last moment and crank the illuminated barrier between the bed halves up or down. The bed is a monolith and dispenses a mystically blue light with its walls of coloured glass. Not exclusively for eternal quarrelers! Whether homo, hetero or bi, happy here together, don't ask "why"!

Two Lions - Dual cages, situated in the centre of this spacious menagerie, rest on stilts measuring 1.5 meters tall and await applause from the neighboring guest(s). Your curtain presides over what your audience sees and what not! Each latticework can be a bed place for one. Or there is room or two, vis-à-vis from the opulent and roomy bathroom. The toilet thrones atop a tower and permits voyeuristc peeks into the golden bathtub.

Symbol Room - Created entirely from square wooden plates, this black and white room incites and excites the imagination to ponder the meaning of the one symbol or other. There are 300 altogether, which guarantees more than enough food for thought. This room composes an accommodation unit together with The Orange Room, both sharing a bathroom and a cozy, live-in kitchen - ideal for four persons, though it can also be rented individually.

Castle Room - T-H-E vintage City Lodge domicile - it all began with this room. Our guests slumber in the midst of a gigantic, colorful wooden fortress, between dwellings harboring both wardrobe and desk. The meadow round the knight's helmet also has a miniature golf course in it - brilliant! Paired with The Dwarves' Room, ideal for three persons.

Clouds - A bright and minimalistic room, giving everything to relax, with two big cloud-photos hanging on the walls. Shares kitchen and bath with the Castle Room (together an ideal apartment for 4 to 5 persons).

Mirror Room - Definitely one of City Lodge's highlights. The diamand-shaped room is completely(!) laid out with mirrors and gives you the impression of living in a kaleidoscope. Caution: Very sexy!

Seefood Collection: Issues from Economy to Religion

Seefood is a collection of conceptual objects designed by Tomek Rygalik and Luis Eslava; relating to issues from economy to religion, that engage with the material culture on both physical and critical levels. My mess is a cloth hanger that doubles as a space divider, encouraging people to display their belongings and be proud of their mess. Oh Maria Keep my data safe! is a USB device in a form of a religious figure that plugs into the computer as a portable well-protected memory. Semi is a ceramic piece that engages existing glasses from our surrounding and complements them creating a whole variety of vase shapes and sizes. Tapa are stools that paired up stack to create an appropriately higher bar stool. Favela is a system of independent height-adjustable table legs that can clamp on any surface, for display structures, shelving etc. TurnOn is a heat-resistant light diffuser and switch combined into a one simple solution. A standard screw bulb already provides the switch feature, by turning the bulb itself we can switch the light on and off.

Modal Speakers

Modal Speakers: Sound from Top - May 3 2006

Rather then follow the popular trend of speaker design in which speakers have a front facing direction that is aimed at listeners, the Modal speaker sends sound from top of the unit. This allows sound to radiate unobstructed and reach listeners with a balanced and untainted sound. Since foward-facing speakers require owners to consider where to aim sound, people have been bound to a method of placing speakers in such positions as on either side of a sofa, the right and left of a room, and so on. The Modal speaker requires no such standard in positioning and thus gives users full freedom in developing the layout of a space.

Sensory-responsive Kitchen

Z.Island: Sensory-responsive Kitchen - April 14 2006

The futuristic “Z. Island by DuPont™ Corian®” creates an “intelligent” environment that responds to the desires of the senses, while meeting a variety of conventional and innovative functional kitchen needs. “Z. Island by DuPont™ Corian®” consists of:

- two free-standing island units, one devoted to the functions associated with “fire” in the kitchen and the other with those associated with “water”;
- a wall modular cabinet system (complementing the two islands) providing space for storage and appliances;
- a wall cladding system incorporating special equipment with advanced sound and light diffusion capabilities;

"Greed for Quiet" Modern Fireplace

“Greed for quiet” is the design of a modern fireplace which deals with the yearning of the people today for naturalness, direct contact to objects and processes. It is about the rising “greed” of the people for traditions and old things. For things that seem to symbolize a better and clearer life in a together growing, confused world nowadays. The fire is one of these old, traditional things. A natural element that has been essential for the people for every time.

But it is disappearing from our homes in its naturalness. We use gas or tablets instead of wood to set it on fire and we hide it behind glass or concrete. And from time to time we watch the fire in the TV and don't know what we are missing.

“Greed for quiet” brings the nature back in our homes, to sensitize the users for natural things and processes by a direct contact to the fire. The idea was to create an awareness of the people for nature by connecting the fireplace with the benches and by a free access to the fire from all directions. The benches are movable around the fireplace in 360 degrees. So the user can choose if he or she wants to sit and relax alone, or in community with others. The benches are floating and give the users a free and natural feeling like on a campfire.

Andes House

This house's location, a hilltop site nestled in the Andes foothills, sounds idyllic, but the surrounding environment is often harsh. Temperatures reach desert-like highs during daytime hours and then plunge below freezing at night. Due to the site's remoteness, moreover, the house must be entirely self-sufficient and supply its own water and electricity. The house's distinctive form provides solutions to these problems.

The form and function of Andes House mimics an alpine flower reacting to its habitat and climate, opening each day to soak up the sun's energy and then closing as dusk falls to protect its fragile innards from the cold of night. In daytime, the house's roof, an array of huge petals, opens upward and out to provide stunning views over the rainforest while shading the entire property and allowing ventilation. At night, the petals close, enveloping the extensively glazed façade, insulating the house and transforming it into a sanctuary.

The roof also incorporates the house's power source and provides a percentage of its water requirement. Photovoltaic panels adorn the petals, while the roof in its open position forms a shallow funnel that operates as a large rainwater collector. A solar-powered pump draws water from a natural spring deep within the hillside to supplement the rainwater collected. The house also relies on the hillside for heat. During the day, rocks that surround and underlie the house get hot in the warmth of the sun; then, at night, they release this heat back into the atmosphere, passively heating the house at the same time.

Inside the building, a spiral ramp ascends from ground floor to roof level through the house's core. It provides access to each of the floors while also acting as a conduit for the water and power supply. Bedrooms encircle the ramp as well as a large open-plan living space that affords views in all directions, maintaining a constant visual connection to the natural environment outside.

Our brand naturally starts off with Björn Borg's amazing tennis career. But it is not only his fantastic victories, which have created the fundament for our brand. Björn was also one of the most influential style icons during the 70´s and 80´s. Most of his fans did not actually care at all about tennis. Björn Borg had irresistible looks with his long blond hair, athletic body and typically Scandinavian shyness. On the court, he was strong, fast and unforgiving. His opponents called him the "Ice Man" for his calmness and reserved personality. Tennis became overnight an extremely popular sport. Björn Borg was more popular than many rock and pop stars of the time. He was a major celebrity all around the world, particularly in Europe, where his face was found everywhere and in every magazine. The implication for the brand is that Björn Borg is naturally implanted in both fashion and sports. To this, we have with our design and attitude added sexiness and style. And finally, we always make certain that our products are comfortable and easily wearable.

The 2006 Motor Show will take place from March 2 to 12 at Geneva Palexpo. While the Centenary event was oriented towards history, this year's show is resolutely forward-looking, with more than 140 world or European premieres, in all sectors taken together. A fascinating special exhibition will be the window on the past. Smart opening hours and reduced-price meals at the end of the day will further increase visitor convenience and enjoyment.

One of the first European Presentations was the Daihatsu Terios. Although it has gained in both length and width, as well as in power, the new Terios offroader remains faithful to the compact 4x4 concept so dear to Daihatsu. The 1.5-litre engine produces 105 bhp, compared with the 1.3 litres and 86 bhp of the previous model.
